There is a little for everyone here. These projects are great for the beginning painter.
If you are new to painting why not start with a thrift store find. Jumping into painting accessories and furniture is not as intimidating if you start small.
This would be a great beginner project. This thrift store basket by Setting For Four is a great first painting project with big impact!
Paint new paint cans from your home improvement store and glue ribbon along the edge for quick vase or container for herbs, kitchen utensils or art supplies. This would also be a great way to recycle coffee cans. You can find the details over at The Everyday Home.
I picked up this piece for my home office at the thrift store. I knew the lines of this would be perfect for the farmhouse look I was going after. You can find the details of this makeover with spray paint HERE. My makeover will be on the blog very soon!
Wanting to experiment with a new paint technique like creating this weathered pot. Start small like with an inexpensive clay pot from the craft store. You can find the tutorial from Our Southern Home (me) HERE.
Maybe you own a small piece of furniture that could use a little updating. Small pieces like this are great first painting projects. This plant stand by 2 Bees in a Pod is a perfect first project. Visit for the before and to see what a transformation that paint can make!
Ready to jump into painting a bigger piece? This piece is painted and then glazed. You can find many tutorials online. It can really transform a piece! Visit Artsy Chicks Rule for all the details.
What a fun piece for a child's room by I should Be Mopping the Floor! Don't be afraid of chalk paint and wax. Waxing has a slight learning curve, but the key when waxing is less is more. Apply thin layers of wax. This chalk paint tutorial is a great start for the beginner.
You can even change the look of a basket with paints and glazes! You can see how I transformed this 1980s basket with paint HERE.
Paint mismatched frames to create a stunning gallery wall like this one from Confessions of a Serial Do It Yourselfer.
Instantly update a dining set by just painting the chairs. Chairs can be a pain to paint by hand, but Refresh Restyle shares the easy way!
Credenzas like this can be a great yard sale find. Duke Manor Farm did a fabulous job making her husband's bachelor piece work in their home.
You can even transform lamps and shades with paint for a quick update like this fabulous lamp by Restoration Redoux.
You can even paint pumpkins! These cuties are from Fox Hollow Cottage. This is a great way to make those dollar store pumpkins work in your home! These would be an excellent and fun beginner project just in time for the upcoming fall season!
