Farmhouse Art Makeover
I did it. I said I wouldn't, but I did.
I was being so good…using up my thrift store stash for these monthly challenges.
But that big, beautiful blue and white sign at Goodwill was calling my name. I caved, and I stopped in over the weekend.
So glad that I did. I found a few great things…to add to the stash.
Lucky me…It was 1/2 price day for wall art. I got this for $2.49. It was hard to part with the yellow plastic flower.
You will need: (contains affiliate links)
- thrift store frame
- Rust-oleum White Spray Paint in Satin
- TAP transfer paper
- Drop Cloth
- iron
- scissors
- heavy-duty stapler
- fine sanding sponge
- Image from The Graphics Fairy
Simply clean and spray paint the frame. Let dry. Lightly distress.
Print the reverse of your graphic on TAP iron on transfer paper. The link is above in the materials. This stuff is so easy to use! Cut it out and iron it on per the instructions. I tried burlap, but it was too dark. I pulled out my go to drop cloth fabric. It is perfect for that farmhouse look.
I used the existing backing from the original burlap piece. It was just cardboard. I stapled the fabric to the back of the frame and I was done!
Be sure to PIN the above image for later!

This turned out so pretty!
I totally have a Goodwill addiction also! I have so many frames and artwork from there and giving them a little more life like this is wonderful!
Love this Christy! Printing the image on fabric is such a great idea! I think I need to hit up my Goodwill today! 🙂
Well I gotta be honest here, I know it will grip your heart but I have to say it…. I love your little calf and girl in their frame, but the yellow flower won’t be missed by me one bit.
What a shame to ditch the yellow rose! Just kidding!!! 🙂 Your project turned out great! Very pretty and creative! ~Rhonda
WOW! That is unbelievable. Would never know!! Nice job, Christy!
