Thanks for sharing!

Today is the day……Themed Furniture Makeover Day!

This month's theme is Two Tone.

I'm sharing my Farmhouse Coffee Table Makeover.

It's a simple change that really helped to brighten the rather dark space.

I only painted the base to give this table a fresh new look.

New painted furniture theme each month!

Below you will find all the other two toned furniture projects from my monthly group! Be sure to visit them all!

Here it is in place before I painted it.

Disclaimer: This is a playroom that the kids are in charge of cleaning! It's not the most styled place in the house.

Here is a full before. This is a great table. Back when I was still teaching elementary school, I had a once per week cleaning lady. Such a sweet lady. Her husband loved to do woodworking. She was always asking if he could make me something. One day, I took her up on it. I commissioned him to build me a farmhouse styled coffee table. It is heavy and well-made. The stain is not my favorite, but I love it!

It looks so fresh now!

I painted just the base in a custom mix of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White with a touch of Pure White.

I applied 3 coats.

I distressed in random areas paying more attention to the edges.

I vacuumed up the sanding dust with the hand-held attachment.

I then applied 1 coat of clear wax and buffed to a slight sheen.

I love it!!!

New furniture is not an option.

It has kind of sparked me wanting to do a few other changes.

The love seat has a denim slipcover. The love seat was my mom's from the early 70s.

Also on OSH!  The Best of 2015

I'd love to add a denim cover to the couch and change-up the pillows with some quick envelope pillows.

Crazy how painting a coffee table can create more projects!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're inspired!

Be sure to check out the other projects below!

I’d love for you to follow on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram! See ya there!

  5. Wow what a difference Christy, it brought that table to life! Even the wood grain on the top came back to life with some wax. I love this series and look forward to it each month. You gals are a very talented group!

Anyway, I love how the table looks – it’s the perfect inspiration for my farmhouse dining table…I can see what mine would look like. Hm, now to convince hubby.

  7. That is a well-built table (lucky you!)… it reminds me of the one we built in class at Haven with Ana White’s plans. You had a great idea to paint the base of it to lighten it up! Love Old White 🙂 Also I love that you still have a “playroom” for your kids – I’m sure they spend a lot of time in there!
