French Country TV Console
It's hard to believe that another year of amazing furniture makeovers has come to an end. Yes, that's right. This is the last one for 2015. We are taking next month off.
This month for Themed Furniture Makeover Day is STORAGE.
I hope that you will see a project today that will spark your creativity!
We purchased this fabulous French Country buffet off of Craigslist. We got it for $99. It is very nice and solid. It's in excellent shape. It belonged to the mother of the man that we purchased it from. He said his mother won it on a game in the early 50s. She was so proud of it.
It's kind of odd on the sides. I guess if it was too much trouble to grab something from the front, you could just reach through! It has extensions to make it a true server.
I was overjoyed with this find. I'd been looking for a TV cabinet for 10 years! We were limited on size for the area, and this is a perfect fit. It looks like is was made for the TV. It will become our French Country TV Console.
I cleaned it well and removed the hardware. Then it got 2 coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Coco. Then I applied a white wash over the top being sure to drag my rag in long sweeps especially across the top.
I then applied 2 coats of clear wax. The crevices also received a bit of dark wax. I buffed it, and she was done.
I don't think I could have purchased a more perfect piece.
We did cut 2 large holes on both shelves for the cables.
It has drawers on the top. Holy cow……I have 2 drawers that are empty and not being used. How did that happen!
Those wire doors are perfect!!!! They are heavy-duty. Lots of storage here for the electronics and Wii equipment that is rarely used anymore.
Be sure to check out the other Storage projects below!
I’d love for you to follow along on social media!
