French Farmhouse Christmas Tour
Welcome to the 2016 Christmas Home Tours hosted by Marty that blogs over at A Stoll Thru Life. I am excited to be participating again this year. I find all of the homes to be so inspiring.
If you are dropping by from Thrifty and Chic then welcome! Alicia has a beautiful and welcoming home!
Welcome to our French Farmhouse Christmas tour full of affordable ideas including simple DIY to make your home unique!

Welcome to Our Southern Home! It's really feeling like Christmas here in our home and with the chilly temps here in the south. It will be perfect when our son comes home from college later today. Tonight we will get our real tree for the family room and decorate it. I know he has had a rough week with exams and is looking forward to being home.
Grapevine presents are a new addition this year!
Last week I shared out front porch. It is perhaps my favorite look yet! You can see more of it HERE.

DIY projects from the porch are the following:
This year I decided to design the centerpiece in a basket so it could quickly be removed to add a tablecloth. I really like how the basket give is a casually, elegant feel.
Stag, greenery and ornaments are from Hobby Lobby. Similar stag HERE.
I just picked up these gorgeous pewter candle sticks up at Marshalls. They look so elegant in my dollar store taper holders!
That basket didn't always have that great, farmhouse look. You can see how I painted it to get the look HERE.
I frequently mix metals. You can really achieve an eclectic look by doing so. In this room and throughout our home, you will see that I mingle brass and aged silver pieces together. Most of my silver is either from my mom or the thrift store.
Our slim-line foyer tree is visible from the dining room. It's the only formal tree in our home. I have a collection of Lenox ornaments that my mother-in-law started for us many years ago. They are much safer here!
In all of our years of marriage, only 1 has been broken.
Drum roll please………It only took about 9 months, but I finally finished painting our kitchen. All the white cabinets used to be a sage green! I'll be doing a post on it the first of the year. I love the fresh, new look.
I have a set of 3 of these tiered cake stands. They are so versatile for decorating and serving food.
All I did here was tie a little ribbon on the topiaries and added this sign from Marshalls. I really went with easy this year in the kitchen!
Pfaltzgraf Winterberry China and these adorable tree napkins from Wal-mart complete the simple tablescape.
Last year, I dressed up a thrift store basket with paint to create this perfect tree stand for my tabletop tree. You can also see the before of the kitchen there as well. I have had those toile rooster and chicken ornaments for about 14 years. They came from Belk.
The last room on this tour is our family room. For the first time in 12 years, I have moved the angels from the mantel! You may notice that I have new slipcovers from Surefit. I absolutely love them. If you are looking to change up your look and have been thinking of slipcovers, be sure to check out my complete post on them this Saturday. I absolutely love them!
The pillows that I have had for a couple of years now look so fresh against the white slipcover. I sewed the toile pillow and the holly ones are from Pier One.
The room has taken on a newer farmhouse feel that I adore.
You can see more details on this vignette HERE.
Up next on the tour is Setting For Four. I just adore Heather's style!
