Sausage Crescent Cheese Balls
I'm always on the hunt for simple, crowd pleasing appetizers. It's football season and with the holidays approaching a must for teens and hosting family events. If that appetizer can serve double duty like for a meal….that's a plus!

- 1 lb bulk spicy sausage
- 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves, crushed
- 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Heat oven to 375°F. Line 15x10x1-inch pan with foil; spray with cooking spray.
- In large bowl, mix sausage, cheese and rosemary; mix well using hands or spoon.
- Unroll crescent dough on work surface; coat each side of dough with 1 tablespoon flour. Using pizza cutter or knife, cut dough into about 1/4-inch pieces. Mix crescent dough pieces into bowl of sausage mixture in small amounts until well blended.
- Shape mixture into 42 (1 1/4-inch) balls. Place in pan. Bake 15 to 17 minutes or until golden brown.
- These are great as an appetizer or for breakfast with scrambled eggs!
Minimal ingredients are required which makes it so simple to mix up!
I don't know about you, but it's virtually impossible to eat just one of these Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. They melt in your mouth. Just because of this one ingredient, I knew this recipe would be a hit with my family! Pillsbury creates easy, quick-to-fix recipes designed to give you more time with family instead of fussing around in the kitchen.
In a large bowl combine your sausage, cheese and rosemary.
On a floured surface, roll out the dough just to seal all the seams together slightly. Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough roughly into 1/4 inch pieces.
Add to the bowl and mix together.
Shape into 1-1/4 inch balls. Place on a tray lined with foil and sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 15-17 minutes.
We enjoyed for breakfast with scrambled eggs. It was a huge hit! Warning!!!! As a breakfast meal with a family of 4 which includes 2 teens…..there was little left over! I tell you….hard to just eat one!
