Sweet Tea in the South
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Southern Breeze Sweet Tea. I only share products with you that I honestly believe in!
I've lived in the South all my life….born in Georgia, then Virginia and SC since the late 70s! Both of my kids were born in SC.
There are a few things that come to mind when I think of living in the South….tailgating, BBQ, monograms, fried chicken, fried pickles….fried anything! The most common vacation is the beach! It's not where are you going, it's when are you going to the beach! But probably the most synonymous thing with living in the south is our sweet tea! You rarely hear of a southerner that doesn't like sweet tea! I always have a fresh pitcher in the icebox (ha! that's southern for fridge!)
Southern Breeze Sweet Tea is a brand new product! I find it at my local Ingles! You can also find it at Harris Teeter, Wegman's and online at Amazon.com.
I know….there are so many tea products out there! Why would I want to change what works?
Thanks for asking!
Southern Breeze Sweet Tea is unique in that the sweetener is IN the family sized tea bag! Yes, you heard that right! Each tea bag includes Splenda for zero calorie sweetening. This is a first on the market today! There is nothing of its kind out there. This is no powder drink. We are talking real tea bag!
This means we skip a step of measuring out sugar! Here's the how to:
*You will need 2 quarts of boiling water
*Skip the sugar part…it's already in the bag
*Add 2 of the family sized bags
*Steep 5 minutes
*Toss the bags
*Chill in the fridge
*Give it a stir
*Pour in an ice filled mason jar
*Enjoy
Seriously, this is fabulous iced tea! I'm picky about my iced tea…you know not too sweet, just right! This is just right with less work!
How fun is this? Each tea bag tab has a cute, southern saying! You may not live in the south, but now you can get a piece of it!
Sweet tea is a beverage that we drink all year-long. But it's not summer without our sweet tea on the screened porch! Sweet tea spans the ages from young to older. I made our pitcher before church and placed it in the fridge. It was chilled and oh so refreshing for our lunch on the screened porch! We are a couple of southern belles drinking our tea and running in flip-flops or barefoot! Believe me, I kicked those wedges off immediately after a few photos!

Happy Sweet Drinking Y'all!
I haven’t heard of the brand but will be checking my grocery stores. I love sweet tea! It brings back memories of playing by the oil at my grandmother’s as a little girl
It is really good and simple to make!
i recently purchased a box of the tea in a local grocery store called Brookshires in Nacogdoches, Texas. My family loves it and me being diabetic I was glad to read it contains Splenda. In fact I made a pitcher of it just tonight…..love the flavor. Now I tell all my family and friends about it and they like it as well as we do. Thanks for making this product!!!!!
Hi, I just found your blog & wanted to let you know that I really enjoy it! You southern ladies amaze me with all of your lovely entertaining ideas! So gracious!
My son loves sweet tea, but had to recently give it up because of the sugar. When I saw your post on Southern Breeze Sweet Tea, I thought it would be a perfect gift idea for him! Seeing as we live in Iowa, I had to place an order from Amazon and I am eagerly awaiting for my order to arrive. Thank you so much for sharing this product with all of us!
Joy,
Thank you so much! I hope you love it as much as me! Just don’t over steep. You don’t want it too sweet! ~Christy
As a Southern Lady uprooted and transplanted to California, my Daddy always instilled in me two of the most important things in life; good barbeque and real true sweet tea. Here in California, I do make sweet tea, but it isn’t quite the same as sittin’ out on the porch on a summer’s night, drinking your sweet tea while watching the fireflies light up the night. I miss those times.
oh, Ann….what sweet memories you have! And to now be all the way across the country!Happy 4th! ~Christy
I first fell in love with sweet tea during a visit to Dallas in the 1980’s. Had some great sweet tea in Memphis too, what a great city to just snack your way through…but the best tea I’ve had yet was in New Orleans last year. It was 98 in the shade with 98% humidity, and that sweet tea was just delightful and cooling. I have not seen this brand and would love to try it!
New Orleans is on my list of places I really want to visit! Wow, that was a hot visit!!! ~Christy
Always knew it was going to be a “hot one” when my Mom made ice tea first thing in the morning and then she would serve it for dinner in glasses that we only pulled out in the summer.
So true! Love hearing the memories! ~Christy
Born & raised in Texas! Sweet tea is a must!! The teens from church LOVE my sweet tea! I may have to order this from Amazon if I cannot find it in our local stores! I cannot wait to try it!
I am really enjoying it! You guys are already having a very hot summer in Texas!!! ~Christy
It sounds just wonderful. Did I read that they carry it at Publix? I will look for it. And Mr. Hayes… ooops he retired, but he would special order for his folks… hope the new guy will as well.
Thanks! Not sure about Publix. It wasn’t mentioned in my info! But you are right…they are great about ordering. Amazon has it online. I really like it!! ~Christy
I started life out by drinking sweet tea from a bottle. Being a TEXAS girl means SWEET TEA as a staple for every event in life.
So true!!! Thanks for stopping by and entering!
I grew up on sweet tea and then of course, had to cut the calories in later years. But have not found any low cal that are really good. Don’t have southern breeze in local stores and would love to try it.
I know what you mean about the calories! You can find it online in their Amazon store! Happy 4th! ~Christy
I absolutely love sweet tea. I am not familiar with Southern Breeze Sweet Tea. I will have to look for it. I hope it is available in Florida! Skipping the adding the sugar step would be great!
I love skipping the sugar step! You can find it on their online shop on Amazon! Happy summer! ~Christy
I was born and raised in the North, but I love the Southern ways: always havin’ a pitcher of sweet tea in the icebox, sittin’ on the porch, family and friends, the hospitality. It’s very refreshing! The tea just makes it all sweeter!
What a sweet story, Laura! Thanks for sharing!!! ~Christy
While sweet tea is so good all year long, it seems to be synonymous with those lazy, hot summer days relaxing on the porch. I love sweet tea.
I couldn’t have said it better myself!!! Happy summer! ~Christy
I am from Washington State & there are people out here that drink & love Sweet tea. I come from a large family & we always had a giant Tupperware container of sweet tea in the fridge. My littlest brother in fact use to try to drink it all before we could get to it. Lol.. My sister’s birthday is come up so I would like to try your sweet tea & maybe I found a great gift for her with a few memories attached.
What sweet memories! To think of your sister is so special! Happy summer! ~Christy
Sweet tea reminds me of my college days at Clemson University!
Well, I’ll be!!! I graduated from Clemson as well! Happy summer fellow tiger! ~Christy
Love sweet tea!! I’m sure my momma put it in my bottle as a baby!! I’ve never liked coffee, can’t even stand the smell of it.So it’s always been sweet tea or Diet Coke for me.Would love to try Southern Breeze Sweet Tea, it’s not available in Texas yet.Love your blog!!
How funny!!!! You sound like me. Check Amazon…they have an online shop! Thanks so much! Enjoy the summer….sure it is as hot in Texas as it is here! ~Christy

Yes it is! Enjoy your summer!! ~Christy
Sweet tea is also a “hillbilly” thing! I grew up drinking it in Kentucky and love it still! Sweetener in the tea bags sounds awesome. I hope they have it at Publix!
Carolyn! Too funny!!! Yes it is! Try Amazon….they have an online shop for home deliver. Drinking mine now! ~Christy 🙂
I live in the north, but enjoyed North Carolina for 4 years. One of the first things I discovered there was sweet tea! I fell in love and had it in my fridge all the time. I now only make it occasionally, but I think if this tea is as good as you say, I think I would make it all the time! Thanks for the opportunity!
Thanks so much, Kristine! NC is a beautiful southern state! Thanks for entering. 🙂 Christy
Sweet Tea! Sweet tea! Sweet tea!
You got it!!!! XXOO Christy
Darling, what is a day without my sweet tea. Lo and behold I must have my sweet tea.I have lived in Virginia all my life. A true southern girl at my heart. I love your website, keep up the good work.
Thanks so much, Valerie! Virginia is just so beautiful!!! Thanks for your support. Have a happy sweet tea summer! ~Christy
When my husband and I went to South Carolina for a vacation, I had my first taste of sweet tea. Needless to say I fell in love! So I equate sweet tea to that special time we had before our life got harder..I will have to try it!!!!!
What a wonderful memory! Thanks for sharing! Thanks for entering! ~Christy
Wow this would make making sweet tea a breeze. Everyone in my house loves sweet tea especially my son. Sometimes I have to make 2 gallons a day (that’s a lot of sweet tea). Unfortunately I can’t drink it as much as I used to because of the sugar…it loves my waistline. 🙁
When I entertain family, not everyone is a tea fan (living in the South – how could that be). I make fruit tea which everyone loves. If you haven’t tried it, it is brewing tea adding sugar, frozen oj concentrate, frozen lemonade concentrate, pineapple juice, and water. It is delicious. I wonder how well Southern Breeze would work in fruit tea? I might have to try this with family time and the 4th of July coming up.
Yum! That tea recipe sounds amazing! I’m with you on the waistline! That’s why I love the zero calorie sweetness in Southern Breeze! Love hearing your memories! XXOO Christy
I am not a sweet tea drinker. In fact I really haven’t given it a try. I’ve heard so many Northerners say it is too sweet so I’ve been hesitant to even buy/order it. But let me tell you I am a Southerner at heart. We spend half a year in the South and I love, Love , LOVE everything about it. The people truly are hospitable and I would move to the South if it weren’t that all of our kids and grandkids live in the North.
Yes, if you aren’t used to sweet tea, I can see why northerners would say that. It’s always served unsweetened there. Love hearing your fondness for the south! You can find it their Amazon store is not local in your area. ~Christy
I grew up in Georgia and drank sweet every day and have for all of my life. It was probably the first thing I learned to make in the kitchen. Meals would not be the same without sweet tea!
So true, Linda!!! Of course, my kids after all these years informed that I need to make it sweeter! LOL! They loved the it in Southern Breeze…I have to admit I liked it a bit sweeter as well. Love hearing everyone’s fond memories! Happy Summer!
Hi Christy, I’m a Southener who LOVES her sweet tea! I’ve drank it all my life and its hard to imagine a meal without it (except maybe the occasional diet Pepsi!). I love that the sweetener is already in the bag. How did no one think of this before?! I would love to make a pitcher and sit back and sip away! Thanks for this giveaway!!
We are kindred spirits, Donna! So funny on the Soda! Know what ya mean! I agree…crazy awesome idea! Thanks for entering! ~Christy
We are from Kansas and were fortunate to be able to attend our niece’s wedding in Georgia in 2010. We all loved the sweet tea! You just can’t find it like that around here! Would love to try the tea you recommend and will look for it. Thank you.
It seems anywhere other than the south serves it unsweetened. It’s just not the same when you add sweetener after the fact. Sounds like your 2010 trip was fabulous. Southern Breeze has an Amazon store to order online. It is really great tasting and so easy being able to skip a step. Enjoy the summer! ~Christy
I’ve never heard of Southern Breeze Sweet Tea. I love that the sweetener is built into the bag – great idea! We only have Kroger and Food Lion in my town, I’ll have to check to see if it’s carried in those stores.
Thanks, Paula! Southern Breeze is brand new! If you don’t have a retailer in your area, Southern Breeze has an Amazon store! Can’t wait to see you next month at Haven! Hope your beach trip was great. 🙂 Christy
