Woodland Fall Tablescape
Welcome friends to Fall at Our Southern Home! Last week I shared our front porch and family room. You can see that post HERE. This week, I'm sharing my….
Woodland Fall Tablescape
It's all part of the week-long Fall Ideas Tour. Each day has a theme. You can find the full schedule at the end of this post.
Today is all about creating beautiful fall tablescapes.
Let me tell you a little secret. All of my pumpkins so far this year with the exception of the one on the front porch are faux. There are a couple of reasons. Bloggers have to decorate early….very early for the seasons. Real pumpkins are hard to find in my area this early. They are out now, but when I started….it was hard to find them. I gave up on that this year. Last year I had a real pumpkin sitting on my Pottery Barn runner. Yeah….the bottom started to rot out and ruined my runner. It actually ate a hole in it. Thankfully it didn't hurt the table. I caught it in time.
This year I picked up a collection of faux pumpkins from Walmart and painted them! Now, I can use them repeatedly on my time frame. Walmart has really stepped up their pumpkin game this year. The stems have a more realistic shape. I did nothing to the little white pumpkin with gold top and speckled gold finish. It was perfect with my mercury glass votives and napkins.
I dried the gorgeous hydrangea several years ago. They are still holding up rather well. If you ever come across Heirloom Hydrangea bouquets at Whole Foods….buy them! They lasted over 2 weeks with changing the water daily and dried perfectly. They are the sturdiest that I have ever seen.
I love the touch of blue in the little pumpkin. I wanted to bring out the blue in my mother's wedding china and it's the perfect touch!
The Woodland salad plates are a new addition this year. They were the inspiration for this fall table. I felt they blended nicely with the fine china. The napkins give a bit of whimsy to the table.
You'll notice that for display purposes and to keep things not so fussy for an everyday look. I didn't set places on the ends of the table or add silverware or glassware. I wanted this to look as uncluttered for a day-to-day look. For a dinner party, I can easily add 2 more place settings. It just looked more streamlined to me like this. Who knows….I may just change my mind tomorrow!
I like this simplified look this year. I don't have to worry about aging pumpkins on my table either.
The seed pods add additional texture to the greens and are a great way to hide bare spots in the arrangement.
The little sever got adorned with extra items that were not used on the table. Lots of thrift store decor here. That mirror is one of my favorite transformations with paint.

Today, I picked up my 3 faux plastic pumpkins on clearance for a total of $5.50 (they will all get makeovers) and a cute, smiling metal tea light jack-o-lantern for $2.99! I feel like I really scored!

Gorgeous table with all your fall touches. The mirror hanging on the wall is so pretty surrounded by those plates

Thank you for sharing these fall decorating ideas – I am shopping my attic now and combining that with some new things that you suggested! Hope to see more.
Such a beautiful table setting! May I ask what the pattern is for the plates (wedding china)?
Hydrangea and cotton and beautiful English transfer plates. Be still my heart! No way you could go wrong with this table. Simply beautiful, my friend. xxoo
Christy it’s gorgeous!
It all looks so beautiful Christy! Love your china! Also, I have those same Seagrass chargers, I just love them because they just seem to go with everything!
The metallic gold polka dot napkins are really a fun touch. Great attention to detail, Christy!
I love your table setting. It’s so pretty. I really like the Woodland salad plates with the outdoor animals on them. They help to make your table setting look so “natural” and they really do look nice with your mom’s china.
I’ll be right over for dinner! Oh my gorgeous! So pretty!

I had to reread that you got those lovely faux pumpkins at Wal-Mart. Such a pretty Fall woodland tablescape that works so well with your china! Gotta keep my comments brief, I have a date at Wal-Mart.
Just beautiful Christy!! I LOVE the colors and all the special touches. Ready for a dinner party now!! 😉

Christy everything is just gorgeous!! I absolutely love the color palette and how you really captured all of the beautiful colors of fall but in more muted tones. It’s all lovely and it’s so fun being apart of the tour with you!
It all looks so beautiful, I love all the natural touches and I am DIEING over those plates! I need to get some asap! I agree Walmart stepped up this year! I got some pumpkins there too for all the same reasons!
Gorgeous! It all looks so great together and really embraces the season!
I absolutely love your woodland tablescape! The gold accents on the pumpkins tie in perfectly with those gold polka dot napkins!
Beautiful tablescape Christy and I love how you used the blue pumpkin. The perfect touch of whimsy.
Beautiful tablescape, Christy! I love you mom’s china and the new salad plates that you purchased coordinate beautifully. Both plates look so pretty on the round natural placemats. Using faux pumpkins seems to be the way to go, especially since now it is easy to find realistic looking ones. You are all ready for a dinner party now!
Everything looks so pretty, Christy! I have to use faux pumpkins as well since the only ones we have here so far are the big orange ones. Love the hydrangeas and wheat and those stag plates. Thanks for joining us on the tour! ~ Angie
Your tablescape is beautiful Christy! Love your china patterns and how well everything pairs together. All of your natural decor is a perfect blend! So happy to tour with you!
Absolutely beautiful, Christy! Everything works so well with your china. I’m impressed that your hydrangea has held up so well and kept its color, the perfect addition to your centerpiece!
Good morning, Just stopping by via Hymns and Verses. Your home is absolutely beautiful and very classy. I love the tablescape, your use of colors and the little deer touches.
