10-Minute Spring Centerpiece

Thanks for sharing!

I know it may still be winter, but we thought we'd help you get a jump-start on your SPRING DECOR!

Each month the Celebrations of Home Team brings you ideas for the seasons.

I'm guilty every year of Naked Dining Room Table Syndrome. In other words, after I put the Christmas decorations away, I'm kind of burnt out. Thus the naked table.

I was in Hobby Lobby the other day and came across these beautiful speckled, plastic Easter eggs. They were on sale for only $4.19 per dozen. They are so real looking. I bought 3 dozen knowing they'd be perfect in the dining room.

The colors are just so pretty with a nice vintage look. They were my inspiration for this……

The crochet lace and burlap runner were also on sale at Hobby Lobby. I had to take an iron to the runner. Then I simply placed the lace down the center of the burlap, trimmed the ends and tucked them under the burlap runner. It can easily be removed and used in another project down the road. It's pretty for spring.

It's got this vintage, casual elegance to it. Since it's still later winter, I used the mercury glass candlesticks. They give I nice winter touch to the look.

When I started this project, I knew that I was using the ironstone pitcher, cotton stems (from Hobby Lobby), the basket, bunny and the eggs.

I placed those and stood back. I knew the vignette needed a little something else so I started looking through my stack of odds and ends dishes.

The wooden piece was from the thrift store for .25 cents. I use it all the time. It's a perfect prop. It's actually the top from a butter churn. It's one of my favorite things to use.

At first I thought I'd make a little sign. Then I remembered that I had this broken bunny plate that I had glued. I ended up layering these plates together. This green plate is actually an extra plate that I didn't need for the gallery wall over our bed.

The basket is used all the time now front and center since I gave it this paint makeover. You can see the details HERE

I adore these new cotton branches. They were too long for the pitcher so I shortened them with wire cutters. There are 3 branches in the vase.

TIP! If the stems flop around together, simply rubber band the stems together. This will help them stand upright and look like a tighter bunch. Before the rubber band, they looked lifeless and sparse.

They are a simple, more natural touch.

The bunny used to not be so white and pretty. He used to be dark bronze. A little chalk paint made him fit into my everyday decor. In the summer, he hangs out on the screened porch.

I had a little left over fabric that worked perfectly with the centerpiece. A pretty napkin or hand towel would work nicely as well. Just tuck the edges under.

Looking into the dining room now makes me smile. We just may have to have dinner in here one night soon.
