Essential Oils Stenciled Box

Thanks for sharing!

Welcome to the very first monthly challenge in the Decorating Enthusiasts Style group. I love this group of girls. Not only do we love each others style, but we have become great blogging friends. You can find us chatting with each other daily about blogging and life. It's quite a shame that we are scattered about the US. It's just one example of how blogging has touched my life in ways otherwise unimaginable.

This month the challenge is……

Stencil Projects

Simple DIY projects to decorate your home with the monthly challenge from the Decorating Enthusiast Team!

You'll find the links to each of the projects below.

I've been using essential oils for about 3 years now and have grown to love them. I thought I had a decent stash until I got this box. It was a Christmas gift. I asked for it. You can find it  (affiliate link) HERE.

I wanted one unfinished so I could DIY it!

I brushed the stain on with a foam brush. Let sit for about 15 minutes to penetrate. Then wipe of with a clean cloth. Let dry.

When you “pounce” the stencil brush, hold it vertically up and down. Not angled like in this photo. I was just trying to move my hand out of the photo so you could see the progress.

I just did 1 coat. I planned to distress it so no need to heavily coat it. I carefully remove the stencil as soon as I am finished. completely let it dry before adding another stencil pattern.

I DID NOT use the entire stencil. I positioned a few of the sprigs off of each side of the flower and just stenciled those to it.

Once the paint is dry, lightly sand to distress the white paint. Dust off and seal with 2 coats of spray sealer. Dry and attach hardware.

Look at all that space for more oils! I seriously love my oils. I've been cleaning with them as well. Still learning lots so if you have something to share, please comment below. I do nee to add stickers to the tops to label them. Right now they are in alphabetical order.
