French Farmhouse Christmas Mantel
Welcome Friends! I hope that you are having a wonderful day and a Merry Christmas. I am officially finished with decking the halls. The only task at hand left is sharing my efforts with you.
If you have been following along, you will know that today marks Round 3 in One Space, Three Ways: The Holiday Edition! You can visit Round 1 and Round 2 to see the other looks I created for our mantel in the family room.
You will find links to the other ladies at the end of this post.
Welcome to our French Farmhouse Christmas Mantel! The large PEACE letters have been brought back after a 1 year hiatus. I did add a white wash on top of the shiny gold glitter which really did soften them up quite a bit. I'll share the details on them soon.
The letters are a perfect addition sitting on the ledge above the mantel space.
I've used the angels on this mantel for 11 years now. I'm not tired of them. I actually purchased them on clearance after Christmas at Belk.
The mantel itself is rather fuss free with the garland hung on the front.
The mercury glass votive holders are from Hobby Lobby. This year I added 1 tobacco basket.
The angels are metal. The detail is just amazing. It's hard to believe that I paid less than $20 for each of them. I remember buying them to this day. We were building this house and knew they would be perfect for this space.
I started it with a rather sparse, simple evergreen faux garland. It is held onto the front of the mantel with clear (affiliate link) Command hooks. I just leave the hooks up year around for hanging other buntings for special occasions. I make it look fuller by adding holiday evergreen picks throughout.
Hobby Lobby has a huge selection of gift wrap that you can usually get it half off. The quality is fabulous and they have a grid on the back for cutting straight lines. I went with these 3 patterns for this year. The ribbons are from the Martha Stewart collection at Home Depot. The (affiliate link) blanket scarf is such fun for decorating and wearing!
I've had this little tree pillow since we lived at our old house. It's timeless being used for about 15 years now.
There are just subtle changes to the mantel this year.
Be sure to PIN the above images for later and to share with your friends! Thanks!
