In case you may have missed a few of the individual posts, I've compiled the photos from our 2014 Southern Christmas Tour into a post for Part 1. Next Monday will be Part 2 which will include many new photos from the family room, foyer, study and dining room.

Welcome to our home in the country on 7 quiet acres.

Welcome Home Tour featuring the Christmas Porch of Our Southern Home

Our front porch is one of my favorite spots in our home to decorate with the seasons. Fall and Christmas are my favorites. You will find a common theme of plaid ribbons and upholstery webbing throughout.

My childhood sled and my daughter's rain boots round out the porch vignette. The only thing new for the porch this year was the ribbon.

To see more detail of the Christmas porch you can go HERE and Here.

The breakfast room is my favorite room inside.  Our home's existing color scheme is so wonderful for traditional Christmas colors.

I took on an 8 Maids a Milking theme here with Bessie as the inspiration. The buffet is adorned with small milk bottles and thrift store dairy items.

For full details on the 8 Maids a Milking you can go HERE.

My scale is a favorite find from summer thrifting and antique hunting.

This is how our breakfast room will be set for Christmas morning. I always host a family breakfast late morning.

Decorating with vintage cars at Christmas via Our Southern Home

The vintage farm truck was a recent EBay find. It's such fun and unexpected as a table centerpiece.

I enjoy collecting tole trays. They are displayed throughout our French County home. Fresh cut boxwood from our yard is such an affordable way to fill containers. It really lasts a long time.

Full breakfast room details are HERE.

The family room is open to the kitchen. The view of the mantel from this room is a welcoming focal point. I really changed it up this year. I used what I already had….just used it all in a new, fresh way!

My thrift store chalkboard frame displays free-hand “Joy to the World” which is so fitting with the metal Christmas angels.

We light our wood burning fireplace many nights in the winter. I love the cracking sounds on those Christmas nights.

Don't forget to check your closet when decorating your home. This is a large plaid pashmina that my daughter and I share.

Olive buckets are handy for firewood storage with a few shatterproof ball tucked inside.

For more on how I created the mantel garland you can visit HERE.

Stay tuned for part 2! I'll be sharing all of the family room, foyer, study, kitchen and dining room. Much more to come!

  1. Such a gorgeous home you have. It’s hard to believe that time of year is rapidly approaching again. Do you do anything for the holidays in the kitchen? I swear my mom half insisted on white marble counter tops just to set off her kitchen holiday decor. I can’t wait to see what you come up with this year!

  2. Christy, your home is so beautifully decorated for christmas. I love every detail and the fact that it feels so warm and cozy, even without the pashmina. merry christmas to you and your sweet family.

  3. Your home is beautiful Christy…and I agree the perfect colors for the traditional Christmas colors! Oh…and that truck…I need the truck! 😉
