This month's theme is shades of white! White is really a great furniture choice. It goes with many styles and colors.

This is actually the before of a chair that I made over back in 2014. I purchased the chair for $5. Now it would probably be $15. Have you noticed a tremendous price increase at your thrift store for furniture?

It was in really good shape. Very sturdy. It just needed new fabric and some updating.

It's hard to tell in this original makeover, but it was painted white and distressed. I then went over it with a glaze to age it. This chair hangs out in our playroom when not used to stage flip houses. As a result, it's gotten rather beat up. Quite frankly, I'd grown tired of the glazed look.

Here it is in the garage right before repainting. With all of the chips beyond my intentional distressing, it just looked dirty and not very polished. Teenagers can be rough on furniture.

I'm getting ready to take it to the newest flip house and wanted to freshen it up a bit.

I used flat white by Rustoleum in their 2x the coverage line. I covered all the chips and glaze in 2 coats.

Now it looks fresh and ready for that farmhouse look. I walked around in Hobby Lobby yesterday looking for new fabric, but I just didn't find anything that I was in love with. I still like this grainsack that I painted on burlap when I originally painted the chair. So I decided not to change it!

You can see how I painted the fabric in the grainsack pattern HERE. It's really very simple and has held up beautifully!

Pulling out my knitting for this photo has me itching to knit again. I just have so much on my plate these days, that I can't find the time for my favorite hobby. I really need to make time. I'm feeling a beautiful infinity scarf with this soft, winter white yarn.

See how fresh it looks now. I decided not to even distress it.

Sometimes I use spray paint, sometimes I use chalk paint. Chairs with detail are so much easier to just spray paint! That little footstool is such a favorite of mine. Image transfer is such a quick project.
