Vintage Look Dollar Tree Garland

Thanks for sharing!

Merry Christmas!

These past 2 weeks have been a fun, busy whirlwind! I have had so much fun being able to share our home and a few crafts and recipes along the way. I am so happy to have you here today. I recently shared my Book Pages Trees that go along with our master mantel. Today I'm sharing how to make the Vintage Look Dollar Tree Garland and the mantel reveal!

Welcome to the  25 Days of Christmas hosted by That's What Che Said! You can view all of the posts in this series by visiting one convenient location at  25 Days of Christmas.

Let's get started. This is a really simple craft!

You will need:  ornaments of choice from the Dollar Tree, twine, old thrift store book,  scissors, tape, a 1.5 inch scrapbook circle punch and hole puncher

I love the book pages with a little glam!

Cut out lots of circles with your circle punch. Then use a regular hole punch in the center.

I used 2 packs of 5 each Dollar Tree snowflakes. They also have other shapes. Theses are great because they have holes already built-in to string the twine through!!!

I attached 3 small clear Command hooks on the top edge of the mantel: 1 on each end and 1 in the center.  Next take your twine and drape it how you want. I cut the twine, but left a decent amount for adjustments.

I then looped the center like this. I used 1 pack of snowflakes on either side of the center. I started and ended with a stack of book pages circles. Ahead of time, I  tried to stack the circles to get them fairly even.

This is where I used the tape. The twine is very frayed so to make it easier, I wrapped the end in tape to make it easier to thread everything. When finished with each end, loop like in the center to hang the ends.

Since you knot your center in the beginning, it makes it easy to get the garland symmetrical.

Just slide the snowflakes until they are in the perfect position. I then fanned out the circles a bit.

The garland, balls and lights have been used here for many years. This year I added the book pages trees and the 2 wooden reindeer from Hobby Lobby!

I got both of the reindeer on sale for $12! They ended up being the perfect size to not obstruct the TV!

The glittered book pages trees were so inexpensive, too!!! You can find them HERE. I used the same book for the trees and garland.

I love the vintage, romantic look!
