Classic Vanilla Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1-1/2 cups Crisco 1-1/2 sticks is the easiest
  • 5 eggs
  • 1-1/4 cups whole milk do not substitue redulced or low fat
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract do not use imitation
  • 1 tsp lemon flavoring
  • Baking Spray

Instructions

  • Sift your flour, salt, and baking powder together and set aside.
  • Using your mixer, cream together well the sugar and Crisco.
  • Add eggs beating well.
  • Alternate adding the sifted flour mixture and whole milk. Blend this on 2 speed well.
  • Blend in vanilla and lemon flavoring.
  • Spray a tube pan with baking spray, which is a mixture of oil and flour. This is such an easy step! You can also butter and flour the pan the old-school way.
  • Pour into the tube pan using your silicone spatula.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 325 degrees for 1-1/2 hours. The cake tester will come out clean.
  • Cool on a trivet for about 10 minutes then release to a wire rack to complete cooling.

Notes

You may freeze for up to 3 months.
