Simply Fresh Patio Makeover
Here in the south the days are longer and already quite warm. It's that time of the year that we spend our family time outdoors. I'm actually writing this post on the patio. It's the perfect spot for dining, catching up after a long day and yes, work!
While our screened porch is a nice eclectic mix of iron, outdoor wicker and wood, the patio was suffering from matchy, matchy syndrome. Is that a thing?
For the upcoming Father's Day holiday, I wanted to do something special for my hubby. He really works hard and is an amazing husband and father. He loves spending time in the backyard. I decided to spruce up the boring fire-pit area for him.
Simply Fresh Patio Makeover
I started by searching the True Value website for ideas. I wanted to find some new chairs for the fire-pit area.
My Chair Criteria
- lounge like and comfortable
- material other than iron or metal
- a color other than black
- affordable
- portable for multi use
What did I pick? Plastic Adirondack chairs! They are under $20 and come in 11 colors! I chose the color Bluestone. I wanted something subdued with a little color. It's the perfect blue-gray. Not only that, but they match my existing pillows perfectly!
Womp, womp……..the totally boring before. The patio has a total of 10 chairs similar to this. Quite the uninviting spot. As a result, we mainly stay on the pretty screened porch. I wanted to change that!
What you'll need to get the look!
- True Value Adirondack Chairs in your color choice
- Large outdoor pillow for each chair
- Fire-pit
- Small tables for drinks and S'mores
- TIKI Tabletop Fireplace and Clean Burn TIKI Fuel
- Potted plants for added color and texture
I snapped my fingers and BAM! It was transformed. Not exactly, but with a pressure washing of the patio and scrubbing of the fire-pit……it became entertaining ready for very little money!
I wanted lightweight so they could easily be moved about the patio. They will be great to face the yard when a badminton game is in full swing.
I borrowed the pillows from the front porch because the colors were perfect. They look so good, I think they will stay.
I also ordered one of these TIKI Clean Burn Tapletop Fireplaces. The clean burn is unique in that it doesn't smoke. You get a pretty flame!
I definitely want to get a few more of these. It has rocks around the fire. Really adds a nice ambient touch to the space.
The curve of these chairs is so comfortable for lounging and enjoying conversation around the fire-pit whether it is lit or not!
I ordered my chairs and tabletop fireplace online and utilized free shipping to my local store. The folks there are so very friendly!
Before it was black wrought iron for miles. The area is now broken up into a couple of different conversation zones. I have some space in the center that I plan to add a couple of chaise lounges.
Even without pillows, the chairs are super comfortable.
I plan to store them in the shed over the winter months. They stack for easy storage!
Set up a simple S'mores station for fire-pit fun! I get so much use out of my set of 3 cake stands!!
I know my family will get much enjoyment from this new patio space…..especially the mister.
Be sure to visit True Value online for all of their available products to get your outdoor space entertaining ready. They also have a large project gallery for simple ideas for the home.
I’d love for you to follow along on social media!
