DIY Seashell Monogram Art

Thanks for sharing!

It's no surprise if you follow my blog that you know my favorite spot on earth is the beach. It's such a relaxing thing to stroll along the water's edge searching for shells and drift wood.

We have quite the collection. Most are displayed on the screened porch. It was such fun going down memory lane creating my project: DIY Seashell Monogram Art.

The shells are from a trip many years ago to Cape Cod. The waters are full of perfectly shaped scallop shells. I brought several buckets home with the intent of craft projects. They've been sitting in the potting shed….for 14 years. This project has made me finally begin to craft with them.

Welcome to the Seashell Craft Tour! At the bottom of the post, you'll find all the other fabulous ladies participating in the 3 day event!

This project was so simple to create with very little time involved. The outdoor No-Sew Lampshade was a recent project found HERE as well as the painted sideboard.

I was in Walmart to pick up a tray for another project. I came across this really cute weathered wood frame with burlap insert.

The frame just felt like the beach to me. I already had the spray paint purchased at Walmart for another project. E6000 is always on hand. They even had the small wooden letters. I instantly had my vision for my project.

Please read the instructions for using E6000. It is very simple, but you need to read. After spraying the letter, I glued it to the burlap center with the E6000 adhesive. I just eyed the center and placed.

I used the same procedure for gluing down the scallops. I played around with different patterns, but ultimately went with a simple design.

I even spray painted the plate stand in Blossom White and distressed it.

I love this time of the year, now through fall I'll have flowers and greens to enjoy in vases and jars like this antique blue one my mom gave me. It was in the back of a cabinet.

  1. Don’t you just love E6000 and spray paint! Your monogram art is perfect! I don’t have a single monogram on anything in my home. Have to get busy!

I love hearing from you!
