HGTV Gardens {Sifter Planter Photo Excitement}

Thanks for sharing!

A few weeks ago, HGTV contacted me to let me know that my simple Instagram photo with my Iphone5 of my Flour Sifter Turned into a Flower Planter was selected for the running in the #LoveHome campaign.  I had to give permission for it be used if it was selected.  I gladly gave that permission!  I never win anything….never even bought a lottery ticket.

Today, I received a sweet congratulations email from HGTV Online letting me know that it had been selected out of 90,000 entries!  It's just a little something for the girl who never wins anything, but it made my day!!!

You can find the HGTV Gardens #LoveHome album HERE.

Here it is!  Simple, huh!

I found this vintage Bromwell's flour sifter in an antique store while on spring break in Southport, NC for $6.  I didn't invent this.  I've seen it around online, but I love its simplicity.

The sifter has built-in mesh, but I wanted a little extra staying power for the potting soil.  I simply cut a few pieces of screen to work around the inside.  Then I  filled it with potting soil and a petunia!  Quite simple!

I hope this has inspired you to think outside the box when planting  your spring and summer flowers.

    1. Thanks so much, Nancy! Just a “little” something! On your instagram photos for your blog just use the hashtag #lovehome. It is an ongoing program!
