Happy Saturday everyone!

I hope you are having a wonderful 2022.

I've been taking a bit of time off after the extreme business of the 4th quarter. It's the busiest time of the year in the blogging world.

I literally just want to curl up in a ball and sleep.

I'm slowly getting back into things.

We have a major winter storm coming in late evening through tomorrow. We are expecting major ice and snow.

Here in the south, things can change in an instant to just a dusting.

We've prepared really well. All meals are planned through Monday night. I even have a lasagna ready to pop in the oven for tonight.

The kid's significant others are even coming today to spend the long weekend as well.

I got this camel coat for Christmas. It is from J Crew. I've linked above to a similar coat from them. Mine must be sold out. I love it! Camel goes with everything. I am wearing it in a size 8.

My fair aisle sweater is still available and linked above. I'm wearing a size medium in the sweater.

Fit Tip: Size medium in the sweater, size 8 in the jeans, size 8 in the boots, and size 8 in the coat

labradoodle on the couch

Ashlyn has been dog sitting for the last 2 weeks for our friends. Prada is absolutely precious. Bentley loves her. She actually goes home today but will be back next Saturday for another week.

Bentley has his own spot to nap as well.

Jack doesn't care for Prada. Lol! For him to be such a large cat, he is literally scared of everything.

family in front of a tree

Here we are the Sunday before Christmas. We took this picture when we returned from church. It's been a tradition to always take a family photo in front of the tree.

December was a big month for us in 2021! Both of the kids graduated from Clemson University, I turned 53 on Christmas Eve and we celebrated our 32nd anniversary on December 27th!

prime rib

This year for Christmas we decided to go a totally different route for dinner opposed to traditional ham. We cooked a prime rib for the first time!

It was a big hit! We will definitely be cooking it again.

scalloped potatoes

We served it with gourmet scalloped potatoes and a walnut salad.

I really haven't gone out much since Christmas. I had a week of laziness. Then I took down the Christmas decorations and cleaned out 2 attics!

I wore this out this week to go to the grocery store. The only new thing is the cardigan. It is still available and on sale.

I can't speak highly enough about the faux leather leggings. I've had mine for years. They work from casual up to dressy.

Sneakers | Fleece Lined Leggings

I've gotten back into my regular walking routine. I'm going based on what the temps are during the day. I don't like to be cold. I got these new Brooks sneakers for Christmas and these fleece-lined leggings.

Brooks are my favorite sneakers for walking. If you walk for exercise…do yourself a favor and wear great shoes. My toes have plenty of wiggle room. I struggle sometimes with my toes feeling cramped in shows. I don't have wide feet…I just can't stand my toes confined.

The leggings are less than $30 and so comfy!!!

Fit Tip: True to size shoes and leggings. I am wearing an 8 in the sneakers and medium in the leggings.

I tried to find a link for my coat. It came from Marshalls several years ago. It is New Balance and a favorite. I sized up to a large. I knew I'd be wearing it to walk so I wanted to allow for layering.

The scarf is one that I knitted a few years ago.

driveway

It's not uncommon for me to come back from my walk to find deer in the driveway.

I'm back to walking 3-4 miles Monday – Friday.

I still listen to books while walking.

family room

This was last night. I had just popped the chicken casserole in the oven. I sat down to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the news. I spent all day yesterday cooking and prepping meals for the long weekend. Fingers crossed that we don't lose power!

I still haven't completely decorated our home for winter yet. Baby steps.

I have to unexpectedly go to Texas next week so I'm not sure there will be any new posts next week.

    1. Thanks so much! Would you believe that I knitted that scarf? I made mine and quite a few as gifts some years ago. I haven’t knitted in a while. I miss it.

I love hearing from you!
