Simple Faux Pumpkin Topiary
Welcome, friends to another addition of the Decor Enthusiasts Monthly Challenge! This month's theme is……
Faux Pumpkin Decorating
Honestly, faux pumpkins are amazing. Faux pumpkin decorating can let you get a jump on the season when the real deal isn't available yet. You can find them at dollar stores and great ones at Walmart. Don't be turned off by the coloring and the general fake look of them. Sometimes, you can come across some really great pumpkins that need no extra love. With the array of paints out these days, you are well on your way to creating a beauty that may just look like the REAL DEAL! Decorating with faux pumpkins is affordable and simple.

Today I'm sharing how to make a Simple Faux Pumpkin Topiary.
These are my faux pumpkins from Walmart. They are a great shape…just not color for my decor.
A couple of coats of chalk paint is all it took. Let them dry thoroughly. You could seal them with wax or a spray poly. You'll notice that I completely painted the pumpkin, stem and all. I planned to wrap the stems with twine and didn't want to fool with painting carefully around the stem. Just secure the twine with hot glue.
The faux hydrangeas were left over from another arrangement. I never throw anything like that away! I've had the urn for years.
The stems were already cut short. This was perfect in that they are just framing the edge of the pumpkin as it rests on top of the urn….nothing is permanent here. I love that so I can reuse my urn throughout the year.
Just take your floral stems and work them around the edge of the pumpkin. You could add a piece of floral foam to secure them if you'd like. Mine stayed in place without.
The colors of the faux hydrangea look nice with the colors in the painting and my favorite dogs. I'll be sharing more fall decor next Friday.
I am going super simple with my fall this year. I am so busy as I am sure you are. As I get older….I prefer less fuss. Will see if I hold true as I decorate for fall.
