Christmas Front Porch
Merry Christmas everyone and welcome to this year's Christmas Front Porch!
This year I've completed several projects just for the porch! I wanted to change things up just a bit and knew I could do that affordably if I did it myself.
If you follow along you'll know that I've been apart of several tours that the sweet and talented Marty from A Stroll Thru Life organizes. It's a lot of work and organization to put something like this together, and I so appreciate Marty.
If you are visiting from Refresh Restyle then WELCOME! Isn't Debbie's home just gorgeous!
Let's get started!
Welcome to Our Southern Home! The weather may not feel very Christmasy, but it sure looks it. Ashlyn {teen daughter} gets credit for all of the exterior lights. I didn't put them in the shrubs last year, but she surprised me with it this year. She did a great job…..as usual.
Would you believe that we pressure washed the entire porch including the brick area on Thanksgiving Day. We also washed all of the columns. It was so dirty from all of the fall rain we've had in South Carolina. Don't worry, we finished up in time for Thanksgiving dinner at Mom's that evening.
The wreath is new this year.
During a pressure washing break on Thanksgiving Day , I embroidered the wreath. My Jingle Bell Wreath is so different with the teardrop form.
The wreath actually started a bit of a theme for the porch. I went with plaid and reindeer this year.
Last year I added the upholstery ticking to the garland. I forgot that I had extra plaid ribbon that matched the bows that I made last year. It was exactly enough to go along the door as well. How lucky is that! I really like the blended look of the two.
This year I added frosty picks around the base of each topiaries. I then filled in around with pine cones. I've used these picks in other areas in the past.
The Weathered Yardstick Stars are also a new DIY project this year. I'll have the how-to for them on Sunday.
It's a deep front porch; perfect for relaxing. It's a favorite spot to decorate.
There are 3 more DIY projects on this end of the porch.
The Reindeer Pillow was a recent project using a ready-made form from the craft store. You'll notice the plaid and reindeer theme carries onto this end of the porch.
Lots of thrift store furniture rests on the front and back porches. This table is one of those lucky finds.
I just finished the sign the Vintage Look Christmas Sign over the weekend. It is probably one of my favorite projects of all time. I've become a bit obsessed with signs lately. They are such an affordable way to decorate a home. It is much easier than it looks!
The plaid Mod Podge balls were also a new project. They are very easy…..just cut strips of fabric and adhere them to the balls per the container instructions. I covered old, plastic balls that I was no longer using. The fabric is a cut up table-cloth from TJ Maxx. It's the same fabric on the wreath.
Fill lanterns with string lights and ornaments for instant “lamps.” The runner is simply some leftover ticking fabric folded. Notice the edges are just left raw.
My favorite all time purchase from Decor Steals is my olive bucket. I just filled it with wood and clippings from the branches of our fresh Christmas tree. A giant pine cone with a few faux berries completes the look. I even tucked in this hand-carved Santa that was a thrift store find this summer.
Bentley and I appreciate you stopping to visit on the porch for a bit. We wish you a very Merry Christmas! Be sure to subscribe at the bottom of this post, at the top or on the sidebar so you don't miss upcoming posts!

You know how much I love your home…and your porch sets the tone as you enter it…..a beautifully created French Farmhouse porch Christy!!!
Such a beautiful home and you have decorated your front porch so lovely. I am enjoying some time in your state right now, a few nights in Charleston and some time in Beaufort. You look like you are all ready for the holidays! I am sharing your pretty porch over on FB and Twitter. I would be honored if you would stop by and share it at Celebrate Your Story at Celebrate and Decorate. The party stays open until Saturday afternoon! Happy Christmas!
