Christmas Dining Room 2018

Thanks for sharing!

Have you started decorating for Christmas? Would you believe that as a blogger, I got started late October! I am pretty much finished inside with the exception of the front porch. I plan on finishing that tomorrow!

Since I started blogging in 2012, I've been decorating early to get rooms photographed and posts written. I'm used to it now and really love the earliness. Getting it all completed early gives me the time to sit back and enjoy the efforts.

Today is my first holiday tour of the busy season. I hope that you get some ideas from each of the other beautiful blogs participating. Be sure to find the other links at the end of the post to visit them as well as information on a wonderful GIVEAWAY!

Today I am sharing our Christmas Dining Room and a peek into my husband's study.

I am so happy that you've stopped by!

This room is still a work in progress. If you've followed a while, you may notice that we sold our dining room suite. This is our new one, and we love it!!! We are moving towards hiring movers to bring in the beast of an armoire that is going on that back wall. It will really be the star of the room.

deer

This year's tablescape came together fairly quickly. The pair of deer always seem to find their way to the table. They are just so majestic looking.

To get the look, I placed the deer and then arranged individual greenery picks around it.

Then you will fill in with faux eucalyptus and ornaments. Easy Peasy!

greenery with ornaments

See those little red ornaments. They were too small alone. So I clustered them together. You can watch my short Facebook live below on how to achieve the look.

Plain gift tags make great placecards. Here I've used 2 different ornaments with a dainty satin ribbon.

Nothing new was purchased for the table this year. The eucalyptus was new for my fall decor. It can be used all year. The polka dot napkins are a fun whimsical touch!

I've had the clear glass candlesticks for many years!!! They are all from dollar stores and Big Lots!

Love mixing high and low-priced items….more on the low side when possible.

I love the casual elegance of the new dining room suite. We dine in here so much more now.

I kept the small buffet very rustic with just a little greenery and ornaments in the tiered stand.

Here is the view into my husband's study. It has been really cold here in the south. It was 23 degrees last night!!! We've been running the fireplaces.

The pencil tree in the foyer is a little sparse this year. We have a new kitten, and I didn't want to lose any treasured ornaments with unexpected play!
