Today I'd like to introduce you to another sweet blogging friend, Christy! She blogs over at Confessions of a Serial Do-It-Yourselfer. She is so talented. Be sure to visit her blog to see all of her fabulous creativity….especially her furniture painting!!!
Hi everyone, my name is Christy and today I am so excited to be visiting Our Southern Home! I blog at Confessions of a Serial Do-it-Yourselfer and as the title suggests, I move from one project to the next to the next. I love to drag home all kinds of treasures from who knows where and give them new life! If I can't find what I'm looking for, I love to figure out how to build or create what I need. I also love to share my outdoor spaces and easy-to-follow sewing tutorials.
I started blogging, not only as a way to share my adventures, but also as a means to inspire others to tackle projects they otherwise thought they could never do. Maybe you'll feel inspired too!
I'd love to share a few of my favorite projects with you today…
Let's start with a fun furniture makeover. I found this dining set at a thrift store for $85. Can you see the potential?
Here's the after…
Here's a fun upcycle. This drawer was leftover from when we sawed the awkward hump off our son's changing table:
I used it to create a mini-bookcase that we could keep in our room for some of my son's favorite books:
Here's another simple upcycle.
I started with this thrift store mirror and a $3 yard sale frame:
Add some paint and a pretty printed burlap and you've got a burlap framed mirror! You could use any fabric to create a look you love.
How about a build? I redid my master closet to make it more functional, using every available square inch…without breaking the bank!
Finally, let's go outside, I have to share one of my all time favorite projects!
See this sad state of affairs that's going on here on the side of my house, including a missing gate?
Check out this beauty! A peek through the gate window shows how far that side yard has come too!
Here is how that side yard is looking these days…check out the post to see how I built the circular patio!
I hope you enjoyed these projects, I'd love for you to drop by my place to see more anytime!
Thanks so much, Christy for allowing me to spend some time with your lovely readers!
If you like what you see, there are several ways to follow along!
Wow!!!! I told you….amazing! Please share Christy some love and pay her a visit!! ~Christy @ Our Southern Home
