Ideas for Gift Wrap Storage
Do you find yourself loving the idea of shopping, but dreading the gift wrapping part?
I personally love gift wrapping, but only if everything is together and ready. There is nothing like getting ready to wrap that perfect gift and you can't find the tape or scissors.
Raise your hand if you are with me!
I've got a few ideas for you today for gift wrap storage.
You'll be able to quickly grab your supplies and have a station ready to go.
This is PROJECT #2 with The Container Store. This project could not have come at a better time.
Last month, I tackled our Master Bath. Our bathroom areas are STILL organized. It was so worth the work and effort. We put things back in their place now that they have a dedicated spot.
I'll have a SHOP THE POST section at the end of the post.
I've been cleaning out and organizing like a madwoman in 2020.
My efforts have been so worth it. After Christmas last year, I decided that this holiday season I'd have my act together for gift wrapping.
My supplies were a mess and I just had too much going on.
This year I've streamlined my process, and I couldn't be happier!
Tips for a Gift Wrap Station
- decide on a few wrapping paper patterns (less is more)
- coordinate your papers
- wired and mesh ribbons are easy to create simple bows
- select a portable storage container
- select a basket with handles to organize the supplies
- look for smaller containers to add to your basket to create a functional system
- add scissors, tape dispenser, pens that won't smudge, gift tags, tissue paper, and small gift bags
Vertical Gift Wrap Storage | Small Basket | Medium Container | Medium Divider
I used to get on the floor and have a grand time wrapping, but these joints don't do well with that routine anymore.
I prefer to wrap gifts now at a table or the kitchen island.
Similar Dining Table | Similar Chairs | Similar Chandelier
This year I decided to go with a simple tablescape idea in a tray basket for the dining room. This will be our gift wrapping station.
It will allow me to stand up to wrap.
All that I'll have to do is easily move the centerpiece over and out of the way.
Cheers to you if you have a dedicated gift wrap room in your home. That would be a dream.
You can create the next best thing by organizing your supplies and making them easily portable.
What I have gone with will easily tuck out of the way in a closet or in the corner of the room behind a chair.
Vertical Gift Wrap Storage | Basket with Handles
I've decided to pick a few papers this year that coordinate with each other. The Container Store has a huge selection of high-quality gorgeous wrapping papers.
They have even broken those down into these. I went with Christmas Traditions.
I've had my eye on this basket style for a while now and it does not disappoint. It comes in several sizes. I went with the small. To turn it into an organized space for wrapping supplies, I added two plastic containers.
Doing this allowed me to create sections within the basket.
Medium Bin | Divider Insert | Tape Dispenser | Fancy Tags | Red Tags | Circle Tags
This medium stage container in The Home Edit Collection is a favorite of mine. Turn it into amazing with the divider insert!
The divider insert turns it into the ultimate organizer for gift tags and tape.
There is also enough space to slide in flat boxes and more tissue paper!
The Vertical Wrap Storage is perfect for wrapping paper! It's lightweight and easy to carry from room to room.
I also like that it will keep the papers rolled and dust-free.
Gold Foil Paper | Red Brocade | Merry go Round | Yuletide Cheer | Topiaries
I went with just 5 varieties of paper for this season. They all coordinate.
Notice how I moved the centerpiece out of the way and off to the side. Aren't those red plaid gift bags adorable!
This Hands-Free Tape Dispenser is so handy!
I have always liked to wrap gifts as I get them. This simple station makes it so simple to get it done efficiently.
Do you like to coordinate your wrapping papers?
