Let's make No Sew Monogram Pillows!
These pillows were a Christmas gift for my nieces. They had asked me to make them back at Thanksgiving.
I let it slip my mind, but they didn't!
A No Sew Pillow using a ready-made pillow cover makes it a quick project!
A few days before Christmas I picked up my supplies at Hobby Lobby. I was making 2 pillows. For 1 pillow you will need the following supplies: {Includes Affiliate Links}
Ready-made pillow cover
pillow insert to fit
1/2 yard of fabric for the monogram
Iron, Silhouette Cameo, Scissors, ruler
I have shared this tutorial a couple of times. You can find the instructions on my Deer Silhouette Pillow post and my Rabbit Embroidery Hoop Wreath.
These are so fun for little girls.
I made both of the pillows on Christmas Eve in about an hour. I lucked out with sale prices and coupon…..I got all supplies for both pillows for $22!
This one is monogrammed in a cute polka dot fabric. I quickly took the photos right before wrapping them.
Here are a few tips for the monogram.
I found my free Monogram KK font from Dafont.com. You will need to download it to your computer.
When you type it for a 3 letter monogram type with lower case, upper case, lower case and it will form the initials automatically with the center initial larger. How cool is that!
Then you will want to ungroup the monogram and move the letters to overlap to do a 1 piece cut.
After you have the letters just right, WELD them together. This way the Silhouette makes 1 cut. This will be so much easier ironing on your monogram to the pillow.
Sadly, since this was last-minute, I didn't take any pics of the process.
You really won't need 1/2 a yard of fabric. I have a habit of purchasing more than I need for those oops moments. I had one on my first cut so I was thankful for that extra bit.
It is a goal of mine to challenge myself and use my Silhouette more frequently this year. It is quite addictive!
