Summer on the Screened Porch
Welcome sweet friends to the this fabulous Summer Tour of Homes organized by the talented and gracious Marty of A Stroll Thru Life. It is so much work to pull off a tour like this, and she does a superb job. Thanks, Marty!
Summer on the Screened Porch is full of ideas to create your outdoor space.
If you are visiting from Jennifer at Dimples and Tangles then welcome! Grab a glass of iced tea and let's go chat on the screened porch for a while.
Our screened porch is by far my favorite room in our home. We spend most evenings out here. My husband I both work from home, so you will find us both out here conducting business calls.
It's cozy and collected through the years.
The furniture is a mix of new, Craigslist antiques, thrift and consignment store finds.
The hanging art is a needlepoint Goodwill find! It's a favorite of mine.
It's a generous-sized porch perfect for outdoor living.
My hydrangea are in full bloom right now. I love to simply use new and antique mason jars as vases.
Glasses sweat a lot outside in the heat especially when you use mason jars for your iced cold beverages. I find that beautiful decorative plates work well as coasters so you will find them scattered about. Would you believe the candle holder came from Big Lots!
Thrift store accessories like this carved wooden fish are perfect for flowers.
These 2 wicker gliders were Mother's and Father's Day presents one year. They are right outside the door leading from our bedroom.
This chalk painted chest has held up perfectly on the porch. I love the color against the brick.
This thrift store lamp was transformed with this simple outdoor shade DIY.
Great spot for our shell collections from Caswell Beach.
The screened porch is divided into three distinct areas.
- Dining
- Living
- Reading Nook
As much as I adore neutrals, there is just something about the use of color outdoors that wins me over.
A centerpiece of various sized jars and bottles grouped together is perfect for a dining table. It keeps the height a bit lower for conversation. It also allows me to bring them in during the heat of the day and enjoy them throughout our home.
These hydrangea came from a friend's yard. Aren't they stunning!
Bentley and I are overjoyed that you stopped by for a visit!
I hope you are inspired by all of the beautiful homes in this week's tour.
Be sure to PIN images for later and share with your friends! Thanks!!
Now it's time to head to the next stop on the tour! Pam over at Simple Details is excited to share her beautiful home with you!

Christy your summertime tour is just fabulous. Your porch feels so fresh and welcoming.
Wow, Christy! This is as beautiful as functional ~ what a comfortable spot to enjoying the evenings. I love your gorgeous windows, too! And, your hydrangeas, oh my!!!
Thank you so much, Pam! I so love that you visited. Enjoy summer!
I have that same needlework picture . I did it in the 70s when my husband was on an oversees job. It’s crewel work on linen. I also did a companion piece of a farm with a cow at pasture but the broken down boat yard is my favorite. They hang in my husband’s office.
Oh, my! That is so impressive. I love that thrift store find to pieces. I did find it kind of sad that someone gave it away. All that beautiful work!
Just stunning Christy….a most fabulous porch that says, “come sit with me and have some tea” …. southern sweet tea that is….
Thanks bunches, Shirley! Happy summer!
