Yesterday was a beautiful day for Ashlyn's 15th birthday! Of course, her festivities go through the weekend.
I have a wonderful close knit group of Blogging Buddies. Today I'd like to share with you some of their projects. Feel free to get inspired and give them a visit! Be sure to tell them I sent you!
This post has something for everyone! You can learn how to mix paint, paint with Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, spray paint, AND a paint sprayer! We are also going to transform old t-shirts, roadside finds, ordinary drop cloth, and a bathroom on a budget!
If you've been wanting to try the chevron pattern on something, but were a little intimidated, Amanda from mommy is coocoo has got the tutorial for you! This tutorial is so easy to understand that Amanda showed her 5 year old drawing the chevron. Make sure you check out the video too.
Don't you love it when you see something pretty and the words No Sew and Budget Friendly are attached to it? I shared with you last spring my No-Sew Drop Cloth Curtains. I bought regular old drop cloth and used left over fabric to create these beautiful curtain panels. My detailed tutorial will guide you right through the process.
Beth takes all the intimidation out of mixing milk paint. What container should you mix in? Farm Fresh Vintage Finds has a great tip! You'll definitely want to check out Beth's kitchen cabinet makeover while you are there, too.
Now that you aren't scared of mixing milk paint you'll want to see how Nancy took a dated 80's bread box and turned it into French Fabulous using Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. Artsy Chicks Rule will show you the painting process and how to do fun graphics too!
Megan from Rhapsody In Rooms painted this indoor outdoor rug (in no time flat) with a paint sprayer. You will want to check out the whole post to see what Megan can do with duct tape. Wow! I had no idea!
Therese is a girl after my own heart! She found this chair on the side of the road and transformed it. You've got to check out the before picture at Fresh Idea Studioand let us know if Kate Spade would have entered your mind!
Now on to our celebrity! Serena from Thrift Diving has an awesome project that you can make in five minutes. Serena was on TV y'all – showing people how to make gift boxes out of scrapbook paper. Check out Serena's video to see her in action!
Wanda got out with the old and in with the blue at Recreate and Decorate. Her DIY Bath renovation on the cheap is one you don't want to miss. Her standard vanity becomes something special painted it blue. Make sure you check out all her other blue touches!
It wasn't easy for her (she likes pine), but Cindy from Dwellings – The Heart of Your Hometransformed not one but two pieces of pine furniture with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Make sure you check out the dresser, too.
Now onto the wine… I mean DIY Pallet Wine Rack from Sweet Pea. Paula will show you how she took what most people (not me) would consider trash and made it into something functional and really cool to look at on the porch! I'd hang out on Paula's porch anytime!
Kathy is so amazing! If I lived by her, I'd save up money to pay her to paint my own stuff. Petticoat Junction is full of amazing paint projects, but these “decanters” are a stunning transformation. Check out the before picture! I certainly couldn't have imagined this transformation!
Are you a fan of cheap and easy projects that don't take long to complete? I know I am! Sonya is, too! She up-cycled her son's old t-shirts into art. Be sure to visit At Home with The Barkers for the easy How-To.
What project have you been wanting to try lately? Painting? Reupholstering? Pallet Projects?
I hope these have inspired a crafty/DIY weekend for you!

Happy Birthday to Ashlyn! I hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating her birthday.
I made some drop cloth curtains similar to yours for my mom’s basement family room a few years ago. People can’t believe that drop cloth can look so good!
Thanks, Paula! She had a wonderful time. I just can’t believe she is 15! Yes, drop cloth is the bomb! My husband thought I was nuts until they went up! LOL! ~Christy
Happy Birthday to Ashlyn! She was born about 3 months before my son Jacob – he turns 15 April 27th. I’m in the process of ordering some new colors in MMSMP, so I especially enjoyed reading those projects!
Thanks bunches, Lisa! 15 just seems so old….seems like she was just a toddler! I really need to order some MMSMP. I used it at a conference last summer and it was so easy to work with. The colors are amazing! Good luck on your upcoming projects! ~Christy
Christy,
Everything you have here is really great. But I especially love the DIY Pallet Wine Rack! What a fantastic Idea for entertaining in the back yard in the summer. You could even stain the wood too in order to have it match your deck wood as well. But great list here, thank you for posting this.
