Christmas Family Room

Thanks for sharing!

You are in for a serious treat today……really all week!

This is the week that Marty from A Stroll Thru Life hosts her annual Christmas Tour of Homes!

If you are visiting from Hymns and Verses, welcome!!! What a gorgeous tour!

I enjoy the entire week of this tour so very much not just because of the beauty, but the eclectic nature of the tour. There is truly something from each and every tour to please all. Everything from transitional to traditional to farmhouse and beyond is covered! I am always left inspired and pinning like a mad woman!

I hope you enjoy my tour. Welcome to our home! We are in the Upstate of South Carolina. We are nestled in the far northwest of the state. We truly have 4 seasons. Snow can be hit or miss, but usually have a least one good snow….by southern means that is! Ha, ha! We actually have our first major storm approaching this weekend. I'll go pick up my bread and milk early.

I am very excited about our home this Christmas. This is our first Christmas with the new wall color, Agreeable Gray. It is truly amazing what just changing paint color can do to a room. It created a huge change in the space. It feels so much brighter. Everything feels new when it is not! I'm not sure if you noticed, but the tree is in a new spot this year. It has been in the same spot since 2004! Now, if I had known we were putting it in a new spot, we would have gotten one a tad shorter. As a result, the angel will not go on top! I'm still tweaking the tree and garland a bit.

Placing the tree in this spot had us totally rearranging the right side of the room. It has taken some getting used to, but nice having the tree in the view of the TV and fireplace.

Each year, I do try to shake up the mantel a bit.

garland

This year, I added a little faux eucalyptus to the garland that was leftover from fall decorating. I purchased one large bunch at HomeGoods and cut it apart. That Snowflake and Book Pages Garland was a DIY project from a few years back. It was actually featured in this years Country Sampler Christmas issue. It is usually in the master, but moved it here this year for a change.

We enjoy our real wood burning fireplace. I'm so lucky in that my husband just went and picked up a new load of firewood.

Do you notice that the secretary is now beside the fireplace. I like it here! I've been wanting to try this spot and making room for the tree was the perfect opportunity.

It's like this spot was made for it….carved out especially for it.

It houses my little treasures now that I no longer have a china cabinet.

It wouldn't be a photo shoot without Bentley managing to get in the photos. He follows me all over when taking photos for the blog. This room is lived in daily….hence the pile of magazines in the basket and blankets on the side of the couch.

This is his favorite spot.

I love having 2 beautiful reflections in this mirror…..the tree and the mantel depending on the angle.

Meet Jack! We adopted him on October 1st. He's about 4-1/2 months old. He has totally fit in with our family. He and Bentley actually play! Luckily, he isn't wrecking too much havoc on the Christmas decor. As a precaution, I did not use a lot of my more breakable ornaments this year. I figured it was better to be safe than sorry!

Thank you so much for visiting! I still have more of our Christmas home to share with you so please subscribe to email updates!

Up next on the tour is Seeking Lavender Lane. I hope you enjoy all of the homes this week! Be sure to share and pin posts!
