Saturdays on the Porch #6

outfit

Hi, sweet friends! I hope you have had a wonderful week. I have! It's been pretty productive. Below are my recent blog posts.

Latest from OSH

I worked on a few projects for the lake house, decorated our bedroom for a seasonal change to carry us through summer. I love my new pillows. That I post will be on Monday.

I think yesterday was the first day that I got dressed up and actually did something this week. Ashlyn doesn't have classes on Fridays. She's redecorating her bedroom a bit and sold her childhood desk that I painted years ago. With her classes online at Clemson, this desk just wasn't big enough. Nor did it accommodate her desk chair that worked at the built-in desk at her apartment.

We spent yesterday thrifting and vintage store shopping. We also checked out World Market, Kirkland's, Homegoods, and Rooms-to-Go for desks with no real luck. I did find one used on Facebook Marketplace this morning so we will see if that works. I am waiting on her to get back to us. Hoping to check it out today. I think Ashlyn is hoping it will work out because she had her eye on a runner in the vintage shop to use on her dresser tabletop that she is getting ready to paint. It's out of her budget, but this might allow it if she can get this desk for $50!

Let's get started with the details of my outfit from yesterday!

The white jeans were a purchase last summer, and are still available. They are very comfortable. They are not snug which I like for white jeans. You may want to size down in these. I am wearing a size 8. I could have worn a 6, but like them looser. I've had these sandals for several years now. I got mine at Marshall's, but they are still a very popular style. I found this very similar style on Amazon. I wear them all the time with jeans and dresses!

neutral outfit on woman

The sweater is a recent Amazon find. When I cleaned out my closet, I got rid of so many old Target cardigans. They just looked too sad and old. I sure got my use out of them. I was looking to replace a neutral one for spring. I LOVE this cardigan. I am wearing a small. I typically order mediums but didn't want this one to be too big and sloppy looking. The small is great. This weight is perfect for spring and cooler summer evenings. It would be so easy to stuff in my purse as well. This oatmeal color is so pretty and goes with so much. My Loft tank is no longer available, but I found this similar one on Amazon which is much cheaper with many color options. I plan to try a few of them. With the lower v-neck, I wore it with this bra that also looks like a tank. I wear this bra all the time. It's so comfortable!

earrings

I love a great earring and typically wear a very simple necklace with a fun earring. I'm kind of into acrylic earrings right now. These white with gold will go with so much this spring and summer. They are so inexpensive and are very lightweight. I do not do heavy earrings.

Here is the same look with blue jeans and a flat sandal. It's will be an outfit on repeat for sure! The jeans are the NYDJ that I've shared before. The jeans feel like leggings. They are so worth it. These exact sandals are great. I got them last year and really want to add some colors this year. I did size up 1/2 a size in them to an 8-1/2.

This is the first outfit shot with my new mirror. I had purchased another mirror here back in the fall. Jack (the cat) knocked it over before we could hang it. Sadly, it shattered! I actually like this one much better! It keeps selling out so if you want it just keep checking back regularly for restocks. There is limited supply right now.

Spring Front Door Mood Board

Hydrangea Wreath | Faux Topiary | Urns | Striped Rug Welcome Mat | Hello CutoutOutdoor Lantern

Lots of people have a black front door which I love. It's so classic. I thought I'd put together a fairly neutral look for spring for it with this week's mood board. I own this exact gray and cream striped rug. It has been a great rug and cleans very well. I even lightly pressure wash it. I also own the exact faux topiaries linked above.  If you are thinking of purchasing them, you can read all about them in this post

girl shopping

Here are a few shots from my favorite vintage shop in Greenville with many booths to browse. We went yesterday.

Ashlyn spotted these really small narrow vintage runners. They are great used as table runners!

Aren't they all gorgeous! They remind me of the look on my spring dining room table

shop

I've got my eye on that blue mirror for the lake house!

I discovered the shop on Instagram over a year ago. Just search your local hashtags.

I love that they feature local artists!

urn

I came home with the urn in the center for $42! I moved the smaller one that was here to the master bedroom which you will see on Monday.

We also came home with milk paint for Ashlyn to paint her dresser and a pretty chinoiserie necklace that I'll share soon.

I resisted the urge to buy Ashlyn that rug. I am really letting her figure out how to budget her money to decorate. I've been letting her sell things around the house for the last year as I weed out decor and old furniture makeovers. I let her keep the money as she helps so much around the house and on the blog living at home now.
