Pottery Barn Inspired Desk Chair
It's that time again…Themed Furniture Makeover Day.
This month's theme is Pottery Barn Inspired.
This theme was tricky. I looked at my stash and around the house. Then it dawned on me that my used craft room chair that I bought maybe 25 years ago had still NEVER received a makeover. It was similar in style to the Pottery Barn Teen Desk Chair.

I almost freaked out because I didn't take a before photo. I went through and found this photo that I never used from 2013 because it was so bad, but you get the idea. It came with a sewing table. I think I got both pieces under $30. I was still in college so I know I wouldn't have paid much for it. I got rid of sewing table when we built this house with a built-in desk.
I love the new cottage look. I painted it with 3 coats of a custom mix of Old White and Pure White.
I didn't do any distressing. Wanted to keep it fresh and clean-looking.
A little carved, etched detail.
The base is very similar to the Pottery Barn Teen one.
I applied 1 coat of clear wax. I let it cure for 24 hours. Then I buffed it to a light sheen with my buffing brush.
Here is a photo without the pillow. Now I need to make a new seat cushion!

Hey Girl! I love your swivel chair. The look is fresh and clean now. I want that pillow!
I’ve always loved the vintage style desk chairs and yours is now one of my favorites! Great job and awesome knock-off:)
Aw this is seriously the cutest little chair! The color is perfect 🙂
I really like this chair painted and it great knockoff of the PB one. It’s now ready to be enjoyed for many more years.
I love the new look of the chair, Christy. And I’m kinda partial to the pillow too since I have one in the same fabric. Great minds….. Thanks for the inspiration. (and your blog looks great too). ~ Angie
Perfect in white now and your house and azaleas are such a pretty backdrop! 🙂
Ahhhh, I love the combo of the fresh white and metal parts! 🙂 So pretty. A desk chair like yours is on my garage sale list for this spring, wish me luck! 🙂
What a refreshing makeover, Christy! You did a fantastic job recreating the PB style. 🙂
