It's beginning to look a lot like fall here at our house.

I love fall….soon I'll be pulling out my boots and scarves.

The outdoor fire pit will get lots of weekend use on those chilly evenings.

Today I'm sharing my DIY fall wreath using materials from an old wreath. Change the look by using upholstery tape to add an additional layer of texture.

See how I took apart my old fall wreath that was in need of freshening up! I reused it to create a newup to date look for our Fall front entrance. Visit Our Southern Home for the details! #fall #falldecor #fallwreath

I knew that I wanted a new front door wreath this fall. I've been using the same one for about five years! I know…unheard of in blogland! I still liked it, but wanted a new look.

When I started inspecting it to see what I needed to purchase, I realized that I could really reuse it all.

Everything looked great with minimal fading.

Now…that excited me beyond words! My goal this fall was to really use what I had to decorate with the exception of purchasing a few real pumpkins!

Today is the start of a fun tour for you this week!

I would love for you to visit each of the other blogs who are participating with me

in the Festival of Fall, hosted by The Everyday Home blog and Barb Garrett.

I disassembled the wreath. When doing this, create piles of each floral piece grouped together. This makes creating the new wreath easier. They are grouped in this basket.

I decided to work outside on the wreath. It was a beautiful weekend!

I purchased a few mini grapevine and burlap pumpkins as well as a roll of wired burlap ribbon. I bought the huge roll of upholstery tape last year…..still using! I only ended up using part of the burlap wired ribbon ($5.99) and 3 of the grapevine pumpkins ($2.09 each) all from Hobby Lobby. Not bad for a “new” to me wreath!

You can still see the hot glue places where the items used to be. I put hot glue on one end of the upholstery tape and attached it to the backside of the wreath. Then simply wrap the desired amount. I decided to go with half.

Adhere the other end of the tape to the back of the wreath with hot glue. Hold in place until set.

Next I started my floral placement.

You don't have to be an official floral designer to do this…I'm not!

I didn't glue any of the picks. I just secured them within the grapevine.

The pumpkin was a little trickier.

Using these little green floral picks, I attached a longer piece of floral wire around it. I attached 3 of these through the back of the pumpkin. I was then able to wire it in 3 different areas to the wreath. It's not going anywhere!

I made a traditional bow for the wreath. If I want to make it a little fuller after the fact, I make these little loops attached to a floral pick and insert around the bow.

The reason that I wanted to add the upholstery tape is because I made two bows with it to go around the arch in the door. It really makes the look come together!

I am loving those little grapevine pumpkin picks. So easy to add to your existing wreaths!

I am so fortunate that the floral pieces still looked great. I created a new look to hopefully enjoy several more years with minimal money!

This is an old pic from my first year blogging, but here's the former wreath. I thought I had a better one so I didn't take an up close before!

I added these upholstery tape bows this year. These were the inspiration for the wreath update.

Extremely bright time of the day for photo taking! My fern will hold out until the first freeze.

I am going simple inside and out this year. I'll add a couple of fresh pumpkins here soon.

Beautiful porch decor for the holidays! I always want to re-do my wreaths, too! There are so many wonderful ideas out there, it is too difficult to just hang up the same wreath every year without updating it! You did a wonderful job, it would be a joy to step up to your front door!

Your front porch looks so inviting and just perfect for the season. I love your new wreath and know that you are glad to have something different to display. I used the same wreath for fall for two years and was glad to make something new for this year. It’s always nice to have a change.

Happy Saturday morning!!! Wow! I'm still going thr Happy Saturday morning!!! Wow! I'm still going through the comments on my last post as well as DM about going gray! I just colored my hair on Thursday morning so I've got a couple of weeks to decide. I'm going to go on and pause my eSalon order. Something that I was suprised to see was that many of you have tried this multiple times...some even 7 times. That makes me feel better. I can always color it again.

What are you doing today? You'll find me in the mudroom painting today. I got a lot primed this week, but had to take a break to work on blog content. It can be hard sometimes being a one woman show. Our dining room has been a holding area for all the crap as I've been working to organize our home one junk drawer at a time. Y'all it's happening and getting organzied is life changing.

This is one of my favorite spots in our dining room. This THRIFT STORE MIRROR MAKEOVER is one of my top posts on the blog. It's really simple to achieve with layering paint. I'll add the link to stories. You can also find it on the blog by going to my link in bio and searching for Thrifted Mirror Makeover or check out the Thrift Store Makeover Tab. Other thrifty finds in this shot: most of the plates around the mirror, the 2 round art pieces, blue and white vase, and tray.

I’ve had an insanely productive last couple of d I’ve had an insanely productive last couple of days! 5 blog posts have been shot!!! Back to painting tomorrow. I’ve got a serious 🧐 question for you??? Have you ever thought of letting your hair go natural? As in #silversisters natural? I turned 52 in December, and I’m so sick of it. I actually colored it today. Yes, I’ve done it myself for years. It doesn’t last and got so tired of the big bucks. I’ve been following a few accounts here for quite a while of other gals that have taken the plunge. They all look so vibrant, chic and young with their gray hair. (Same age) I have a very good friend that took the plunge this summer. She went drastic by buzz cutting her long dark hair. But was done with the coloring process. I can’t do that. I’ll have to go the skunk stripe route! 🦨 Just curious! Would love to hear you thoughts and if you’ve done this. Will today’s box of light brown be my last? Would anyone want to take the journey together?

Thanks so much for all the comments and suggestion Thanks so much for all the comments and suggestions about my back yesterday. I did absolutely nothing and rested it. I slept better last night, and it's much better today. Last year on this very day, I posted our winter mantel. I loved this look. We enjoyed it so much throughout January. Keep on using your fresh greenery and twinkle lights if it makes you happy! Going through old ideas has me inspired to spruce up our mantel. Sadly, I haven't really done anything to it since Christmas. I went straight from putting up Christmas to painting the mudroom! Have a cozy evening! This New thrift store makeover post almost didn’ This New thrift store makeover post almost didn’t happen! It’s the first one of the new year! I was 1/2 way through the project while simultaneously painting the mud room cabinets. Down on the floor painting lower cabinets and twisted a certain way which did something to my lower back/hip. Ugh!!!! I got it done with the help of @ashlyn_little ⭐️ I couldn’t sleep and currently on heating pad. I’m going to be useless today! Any remedy ideas? I’ve got to get back to painting! I can’t take things in disarray. Lol! I’ll be working on the laptop in bed today I guess and checking out the other projects from my blogging friends! Link in bio and stories to the blog post!

Happy New Year & Wednesday friends! @bentleywestie Happy New Year & Wednesday friends! @bentleywestie here! My grandma has taken a little break from social media and the blog to enjoy time with us before Woods and Ashlyn started classes back at Clemson. Personally...I’m ready to see her get out of sweats and put some makeup on! She did finally get all the Christmas packed away. With the tree gone, I’ve got my other bed back in the den! I think she’s coming off a sugar high. She mentioned that all the Hershey kisses were gone. Oh, well! Things are getting back to normal around here! Maybe they’ll get me a haircut!

You’ll find me here all day in pajamas. That’s You’ll find me here all day in pajamas. That’s right! I’m not doing a darn thing today. I always lounge the day after Christmas to recoup after days of cooking. After Christmas is when I can finally relax a bit and enjoy the beauty of the season. I finally watched Little Women this morning and loved. Now I’m watching season 2 of Virgin River. How are you spending your Saturday? I’ll be getting dressed later this evening for our anniversary dinner. #31years tomorrow! 🥂
