Get Inspired with My Blissful Space
I am so pleased to have Crystal from My Blissful Space her at Our Southern Home today! She has a beautiful family! I honestly do not see how she does all that she does running a full-time day care in her home and has time to stay fit with certification in Jazzercise! Please give the talented Crystal a warm welcome. Also, I'd love for you to show her some love by visiting her blog to help make her dreams come true! Thanks bunches, Crystal!!
Hi, I'm Crystal from My Blissful Space, and I'm so excited to have the opportunity to guest post at Our Southern Home! I am a wife to a handy hubby that fortunately is able and willing to construct most of the projects I throw at him, and a mother to a 7-year-old “mini-me”. I operate a full-time in-home daycare and have done so for almost 6 years. I decided just over a year ago that I wanted to get serious about getting out of daycare and pursue a life-long dream of organizing and decorating for a living. I got more serious about regular blogging, changed my blog name to My Blissful Space (which is also my business name), and kicked things off with an organizing presentation to my MOPS group. I was so encouraged by the feedback, and thanks to a friend's referral I had my first customer shortly thereafter! People were actually going to PAY ME to do what I love!
Us on vacation last year
When my best friend of over 30 years (known on the blog as “The Bestie” or Kim) adopted her sweet baby girl, I knew I had to stay on and do daycare at least another year so I could take care of her. So I still do daycare full time (about 55 hours a week), am still pursuing my dreams, and also recently recertified to teach Jazzercise! I am super busy and sometimes, especially lately, I can barely keep up, but I have my eyes on the prize and of course good organization helps a lot!
At My Blissful Space you will see not only a variety of organizing, decorating and DIY projects, but because of my passion for health and fitness, I also do a biweekly series called Fitness Friday. On the alternate weeks I share my Week of Bliss…pics of things that made me smile the two weeks prior!
Some of my most popular posts are…
…my daughter's Winx fairy birthday party from last year…
I always find it interesting to see what projects readers love vs what are my personal favorites! Here are just a few of the ones I really loved…
This cart came along with our house when we bought it, and with a little inspiration I finally saw the potential that it had!
Stenciled End Table MakeoverThis table was cute before, but I just love the transformation a little chalk paint and a stencil gave it. Now it's one-of-a-kind!
Aqua and chevron and organization…oh my! I can see this pegboard through my front windows and it makes me giddy every time. I have plans to do a different version for my daughter's room as we redo her space in the near future, so be watching for that!
Currently our house and life are in chaos as we finish our cabinet painting project, so you can follow along with that progress! There are always projects going on at our house, and this year will be no exception. Be sure to stop and visit and see my other projects, past and upcoming, over at My Blissful Space!
