Galvanized Metal Vase Makeover
Yippy skippy…..It's Thrift Store Makeover Day!
If you are new here, each month the team takes one item and makes it over so it can be loved again. Sometimes things are simple and sometimes there's that wow factor…..of why didn't I think of that!
My makeover today is super simple……
Galvanized Metal Vase Makeover
This galvanized metal vase is in great condition, it's just a bit too shiny for me. My daughter is moving into an apartment for college next year, so we are working to decorate it on a very tight budget and getting a jumpstart. This will look so great in her boho styled bedroom she's hoping to achieve.
I grabbed a white out of my paint stash.
I squirted some in a paper plate and used this very old stencil pouncer. I just added bits of paint at a time. I didn't want to waste so I kept squirting more on the plate as needed.
Basically, I pounced and swirled the white paint all over pretty haphazardly. I did 2 coats and let it dry thoroughly between coats. It dries pretty fast so you can complete this within an hour.
After it had dried, I took it outside and lightly sanded the raised areas of the ivy and the top and bottom edges. Then I sprayed it with a 2 coats of clear satin sealer.
It lets just enough of the galvanized shine through.
It's perfect for spring with some faux hydrangeas.

Thanks so much, Gail!
I love it all creamy white – so pretty!
Thanks Maryann!
Christy this is such an easy fix and I have done it over the years. I used one coat of gesso on mine. Looks like your first coat on your piece. I still have it and display dried Lavender.

Very pretty, love that end result! And it works perfectly in your Spring vignette!
