First off all, I make these year round……not just at Christmas!
My ingredients came from Walmart and Aldi.
You could use small Hawaiian rolls, but my family doesn't care for them. You can find them at Aldi. I typically purchase the Pepperidge Farm Party Rolls. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Walmart now has their version. They were great. You'll need 3 packs.
I chopped my onion in may small mini-chopper. It gets the pieces quite fine which I prefer with these sandwiches.
You'll blend the softened butter (room temp), mustard, onion, poppy seed and worcheshire together. I used my Kitchen Aid mixer.
Slice bread like this.
Divide the mixture amongst all 6 slabs of bread.
Spread over all sides.
The boiled ham in rectangular packs works perfectly. Use 4-6 slices on the bottom part of each section.
Top with 4-8 slices of swiss cheese.
Place the tops of the bread onto each bottom slab.
Cover with foil and bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and feel warmed. You can remove the foil after 15 minutes to brown slightly for a minute or 2.
I'll make these for the weekend and place them back in the bags without baking in oven. They stay in fridge well. Then just remove a bag and cook as needed over the weekend.
Saw with minimal pressure with a bread knife! Don't have to cook all at once if not using as appetizers! They will keep well in fridge for a day or 2. As an Amazon Associate and member of other affiliate programs, I earn from qualifying purchases.Ham Delight Sandwiches
