Happy summer, sweet friends! I am so blessed that you took a few minutes out of your day to stop by our home.
It's been a crazy busy week taking care of my mother that just had knee replacement surgery. She also turns 77 today and my son will be 24 (gulp) on Friday. I won't lie…..it's been stressful taking care of mom, her home, our home, and planning 2 small family parties.
I am so thankful that Marty from A Stroll Thru Life asked me to participate in the Summer Bedroom Tour. Mom's surgery was pretty last minute so I almost had to back out. Marty's tours are always one of my favorites. They are so eclectic. There is always something to fit every style of home. I think that is great. I come away so inspired.
If you just stopped by from visiting from Yvonne's gorgeous home from Stone Gable Blog, welcome! Yvonne's home is one of my favorites. I've been following her forever. She is the most talented and sweetest soul.
Last summer I painted our home Ashwood by Benjamin Moore. It is a color that I LOVE! It's a soft, warm gray with a hint of green undertone. I still need to complete the color changed on the molding to Simply White in this room. I have a bad habit of moving on to another room to change the wall color. I'm currently painting the media/bonus room upstairs.

One thing that I can't seem to live without in our home is pillow covers. I can easily change looks without having to store loads of pillows. These pillow covers are typically in the family room. The joy of neutral walls and furnishing is that you can change up the look with pattern and color from your fabrics and accessories.
Everything stays pretty consistent here with the exception of the pillows and throws.
I lucked up and came across these amazing euro shams on Amazon. They come in several colors and other pieces as well. They move around our home nicely. I frequently move pillows here and there.
One of my favorite places to get affordable oil painting is Ebay. I buy them rolled then have them stretched and framed.
Plates are an affordable way to finish off art over your bed. These are my absolute favorite plate hangers.
Directly across from our bed are our fireplace and TV. We watch TV in here most nights. I changed out rugs in the spring and loving this one. It's warm in coloring and neutral so that I can change our pillows as frequently as I'd like.
We use the gas logs frequently when it is cooler. I recently turned off the gas and pilot light.
This is such a cozy spot in our bedroom. You'll frequently find Bentley asleep here if he isn't on the bed.
We use the ottoman a lot while sitting here. I like to keep a simple vignette here on a tray so it can easily be moved to the floor if necessary.
You are in for a treat! My friend Kristin from White Arrows Home has a gorgeous log cabin style home in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Her home is a stunner that will have you checking Realtor.com to find your own cabin in the woods!
