What is the Pinterest Challenge?

Each month, we are given either a topic or a photo for inspiration. Think in terms of looking through Pinterest for inspiration. That is how Cindy gets inspired by the challenge. If it is photo inspiration, she visits the source and asks if they'd like to be our inspiration for the monthly challenge. It's that simple! It's such a fun post each month.

This month we are recreating a sweet spring vignette featuring bunnies, plates and florals inspired by Emily from LeCultivateur. Emily's home is just gorgeous and has a lovely French influence. It's right up my alley.

Beautiful and Simple Spring Dining Table Centerpiece

In this post, we’ll explore easy and elegant ideas for creating a beautiful spring dining table centerpiece that brings a fresh, seasonal touch to your space—without the fuss!

Elements from the Inspiration Photo

  • metal
  • bunny rabbit
  • plates
  • cloche
  • greenery
  • flowers
  • basket weave
  • glass
  • candlelight
  • eggs

The only item that I did not have on hand was a small bird's nest.

Assembling the Centerpiece

You can follow this exercise with any decor photo. It doesn't have to be followed exactly. Think of it as inspiration and a little guidance to create a vignette.

I did not have a footed tray to use here. I opted for a tray. The reason that I opted to use this tray is because it has a basket look. It used to be dark stained brown and was a thrift store makeover that you can do yourself!

I hunted through my rabbit stash and tried several before I settled on this look. There are 2 rabbits in the inspiration photo so 2 here as well.

spring plate

I bought a set of 4 season plates while in Germany 25 years ago to use in Ashlyn's bedroom. Isn't sweet. I am so glad that I didn't get rid of them when she grew out of the nursery bedroom stage. I make a point of using it every spring.

cloche with eggs

My Southern Living salt and pepper shakers work for the metal/pewter look.

tulips

My collection of glass candlesticks is from Big Lots and Dollar Tree through the years. I love using them in spring and summer for a light and airy look.

I opt for battery-operated candlesticks these days. Our Sunday lunches with family now involve everyone bringing their dogs and a now 1-year-old. Safety and ease are king these days. They've come a long way and look so realistic.

tulips

These faux tulips are so good! I have used them in this basket wreath and this arrangement. Now, they look lovely here and in the family room. I think I own a total of 4 sets now. I store them in the attic with no issues.

I also added a few tulips lying on their sides like the inspiration.

I also added a couple of these champagne gold bunnies. Aren't they sweet! They are from Dollar General. They are bright colors. I share how I transformed them here to use at individual place settings.

Of course, I have to add my style with a bit of blue and white chinoiserie in each room.

  1. This turned out just beautiful:) Yes, I am regretting getting rid of the Beatrix Potter plates I had from my kids’ nursery, especially since its all the rage again. Oh, well, I can’t keep everything. Love your white bunny statue, and I always drool over that cabinet. Happy Spring!

  2. Christy, your bunny centerpiece turned out beautifully! I have a Brambly Hedge teapot I usually bring out here in spring. The plates would be fun to find again someday. Glad you have yours! I love too how you’ve incorporated your favorite blue & white vase and the large wood eggs in the cloche. Isn’t it fun to see how different each centerpiece turned out? Lovely!!

    Big spring hugs,
    Barb 🙂

  3. Wowza! Each element is beautiful! My favorite part is juxtaposing the plates from Germany and the moss eggs. Fantastic styling Christy! It makes your dining room have a different feeling. Not just gorgeous but whimsical too. Happy Easter! pinned

  4. What a lovely grouping — perfect for Spring!! Nothing can go wrong when you add blue and white.

  5. Such great inspiration! Gotta ask about the table runner–didn’t see a source and I love it!

    1. Thank you! I have searched high and low for a source for a couple of years. I got it at Homegoods along with a blue version a couple of years ago. HomeGoods is my favorite source for runners.
